Boko Haram offensive: Military deploy more troops in Adamawa


In its efforts towards ensuring that the onslaught against the Boko Haram insurgency is sustained, the Military had on Monday deployed 200 troops to Yola, Adamawa State.
The state and two other North-eastern states – Borno and Yobe were slammed with of a state of emergency by President Goodluck Jonathan on May 14.
Addressing the troops at the headquarters of the 23 Armoured Brigade in Yola, the Brigade
Commander, Brigadier General Fatai Alli, urged the soldiers to adhere to all necessary rules of engagement in their assignment.
Alli said necessary areas for deployment in the state had been identified for action and that more troops were on their way to join those on ground.
He appealed to members of the public to accord maximum support and corporation to the troops to facilitate the successful execution of their assignment.
The commander further commended the support and corporation shown by the public in the state since the emergency rule took effect, urging them to sustain the relationship.
