The two-day training was jointly sponsored by the women affairs ministry and non-governmental organisation, Service to Humanity Foundation, owned by the Katsina State first lady, Mrs Fatima Shema.
Hajiya Fatima Shema said the measure was part of efforts to ensure economic empowerment of women and support stability at the home front.
Hajiya Shema, who was represented by the wife of the deputy governor, Hajiya Lubabatu Garba Faskari said the success of Nigeria as a nation was dependent on success of women, hence efforts must be pull together in uplifting living standard of women.
She noted that benefiting women who were drawn from 34 local government areas of the state would also be assisted with start-up capital to enable them begin small scale businesses.
Earlier, the permanent secretary, ministry of women affairs, Hajiya Talatu Nasir said the participating women had learnt a lot and were equipped to not only start their own business but to also teach others.
She urged them to ensure judicious use of the opportunity and the training acquired so as to justify government spending and investment
