Man Arraigned For Stealing N423,000 Phones
A 26-year-old man, Benjamin Nwaobi, has been arraigned before the Yaba Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing different models of Nokia phones valued at N423, 000.

Nwaobi was said to have stolen the phones from a smart phones dealer, Slot Sytems Limited. The charge sheet read in part, “That you, Benjamin Nwaobi,m, on the July 25,2013 at about 5pm between Ikeja and Unilag Akoka, while on transit, in Lagos Magisterial District did steal the following items as indicated below:

(1) Three Nokia Lumia 750 phones valued N135,000,(2)Two Nokia Lumia 520 phones valued N50,000, (3)Two BlackBerry phones valued N125,000 and (4)Oneipad 4 32GB phone valued N112,000 bringing the value of items stolen to N423,000 (Four hundred and twenty three thousand naira) property of slotSystems Limited located at Unilag Akoka Lagos.”

The prosecutor, Inspector Peter Nwogwu, said the offence was punishable under Section 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State Nigeria, 2011.

Nwaobi pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The magistrate, Mrs. M.A Ladipo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
